Desired options for creating reports

It should be possible to quickly expand and collapse the grouping levels. Currently, you have to manually expand them one by one every time, which is a huge waste of time.Preferably, there should be an option to choose up to which grouping level you want to expand.

The grouping level should be exported along with the CSV file; currently, everything is stacked flat.

Colors should be retained when you close the report. Currently, you have to set the colors again every time.

The units of measurement should also be retained so that you do not have to adjust them again every time.

Exactly!

I have reported some of these before as well. Only thing I don’t necessarily agree with is the grouping level in the CSV file. For me the CSV should be “raw data” without any grouping applied. I can easily recreate the grouping with pivot table in Excel (or could be Power BI or similar). But automating the processing of subtotals is not really something I desire …

The point about the measurements: One thing that does help is when using “Code” for grouping. In those cases the unit of the code is taken over from the library. So if that is what you are grouping on, better to set it once on the correct place instead of each report individually.

Indeed, I hadn’t thought of that yet. Adding the data for the grouping as a column in the report to then create a pivot table in Excel. Thanks for the tip, Johan.

Yes, adding each ‘level’ of grouping in a column in the export is the way to go.

Hi @Birger_Hampton ,

Thanks for the feedback!

  • There is a button to expand and collapse the entire report, see image below. Is this what you meant or do you mean rather on a group-by-group level?

  • Good tip of Johan to export the grouping levels as extra columns as well

  • We released a new version of Qonic yesterday where colors and units of measurement are retained when closing the report panel (note: this is currently only supported within the same session. After closing and reopening Qonic these colors will not be retained, this requires some more work on our end to make this possible).

Hi @Jacob_De_Sutter,

It is already handy that there is a collapse all / expand all button.

A nice-to-have would be the ability to choose at which sorting level you want to collapse.

Since the new update, the coloring is going wrong. I ask @Dieter if we can have a quick call on Teams so I can show live what is going wrong.
