Hi, it’s a big problem we encounter at our infrastructure projects. When we want to do QTO’s for execution, the model is not split in any way. In these projects the grid lines are a crucial landmark point. So it would be awesome if there would be a possibility to use these lines, to easily an accurately split our elements. This way the QTO’s would be more beneficial.
Hi @Jitse_Sanders1 ,
There is no direct ‘split by grid’ command in Qonic, but the Slice tool does snap to grid lines making it pretty straightforward so slice along these axes. If your model contains a grid you can visualise it in the bottom right corner, and once it’s visible you can use it to snap to during operations like Slice.
Tip: during the Slice tool, use the Ctrl+D Shortcut to create an additional slicing plane.
Hi Jacob, thanks for the reply!
I didn’t know this, seems usefull, but still encounter some issues.
It all works fine when you have elements that align perfectly with the grids. But with most infra projects it’s almost never the case…
Still very nice this is possible though!
