New Capabilities
1. Slice by Chalk Tool
The Slice tool now works the way you sketch. Draw lines or curves directly onto any face of your model using the Chalk tool, and let Qonic do the rest. Simply hit S for Slice, select your curves, and apply.
· Total freedom: Split elements exactly as you define them, so no pre-aligned geometry required.
· Multi-planar flexibility: Break free from single-plane restrictions.
· Versatile application: Quickly divide slabs, roofs, or structural elements into specific zones for phasing, quantities, or coordination.
2. Model Picker
The top bar has been redesigned to help you stay in flow. You can now load and unload any model in your project directly from the modeling environment, without needing the dashboard.
With a single click, you can add an HVAC model to your view or set your facades model as active so new geometry is saved to the right file automatically. Need to protect your work? Use the personal lock feature to prevent accidental edits during your session.
3. Transform: manipulator anywhere
You can now place the manipulator anywhere in the model, even outside your selection:
· Flexible positioning: Measure, copy, or rotate from any point in the scene (e.g., between two columns).
· Adjust on the fly: Hold the left mouse button and drag the center to reposition the manipulator mid-operation.
Feature Additions
Drawings
-
Drawings export: Filter drawings by product type definition and export them.
-
Exploded drawing export: Export drawings with all elements broken out as individual lines, arcs, and text. The result is a DWG you can edit freely.
-
Drawing text styles: Qonic now ships its own text style in drawing scripts, so generated drawings use consistent typography out of the box.
Interoperability
-
Revit material export: Material properties now export from Revit to Qonic, so the colours and materials you have defined in Revit come through correctly in your model.
-
Revit import file size limits: The maximum Revit import file size has been increased to 512 MB. Revit import file size limits are managed per subscription plan.
Data and workflow
-
Railing length calculation: Railing lengths are now calculated automatically from your live model data, directly available for QTO and documentation.
-
Views Favourites: Mark the views you return to most and reorder them to control which keyboard shortcuts they get.
-
The Views panel has been upgraded for speed and convenience: it opens instantly, pins your favorites at the top, and aligns keyboard shortcuts 1 through 5 with your preferred layout.
