Qonic May Release Notes
Every now and then, a small request makes a meaningful difference. One question we’ve heard more than once over the past months was: “Can the Laser Tool measure slopes?”
We’re happy to say: now it can.
This May release continues in that spirit. We’ve focused on practical improvements that simplify modelling, speed up collaboration and give you more control over your data. From major progress in multi-model editing to smarter property workflows and a more responsive interface, this update is all about making everyday work smoother.
Let’s take a look at what’s new:
Modelling
-
Multi-Model Editing: You can now move, copy, delete and edit elements across multiple models simultaneously. This gives you full control without switching views or losing context.
-
Union, Boolean & Slicing Procedures: Easily combine or cut geometry, clean up overlapping volumes or break down complex assemblies, now with full multi-model support.
-
Property Set Procedure: Apply property sets to selections in one go. A time-saver for applying standards across models.
-
Laser Tool: Slope & Thickness Measurement: A powerful addition to the Laser Tool! You can now measure both inclinations and thickness directly in the model. It’s perfect for checking roof slopes or accessibility gradients, without needing any workarounds.
Data Management
-
Version Compare: Compare two model versions or two external IFCs, visually or using the new report panel. Spot changes in geometry or properties with clarity, whether you’re reviewing in Qonic or checking files from project partners.
-
Space Search in Browse: You can now search for spaces directly in the Browse panel which makes navigating spatial zones more efficient.
-
Extended Search in Inspect: Search across properties of materials, codes, tasks, and locations, giving you more visibility and control over your data.
Cloud Collaboration
-
Deep Selection in Read-Only Files: Explore and inspect shared models in more detail, even if you don’t have edit rights.
-
Improved Browse Config Handling: Browse panel configurations now treat case sensitivity properly and ensure new setups differ reliably from existing ones.
-
Updated Notifications Panel: The issue notifications view has been redesigned for clarity and ease of use.
Platform & User Interface
-
Report Panel Improvements: You can now add more property types as columns in the report panel, making exports more customisable.
-
Library Panel Optimisation: Faster loading, more stable filtering and improved selection behaviour across the board.
Interoperability
-
SketchUp Import: By popular demand: you can now import SketchUp (.skp) files into Qonic, alongside IFC, Revit, and 3DS. Bring in early design studies or concept models and enrich them in your main workflow.
-
Support for Revit 2026: Export and convert models from the latest version of Revit.
-
Improved IFC Sync Handling: More robust conflict detection and resolution when syncing IFC updates, especially in large federated models.
Bug Fixes & Optimisations
-
Fixed selection bug when creating issues
-
Fixed offset faces in PushPull operations on certain BREP geometry
-
Improved property matching logic in Inspect
-
Fixed relation conflict handling during sync after IFC update
-
Adjusted notifications panel to match new UI
-
Fixed Browse Panel config behaviour for case-insensitive duplicates
-
