Qonic October Release Notes

The October release is here, and it’s driven by two words: Speed and Certainty. We know time is money, so we’ve radically enhanced your modeling workflow with new Extrude and free-form Chalk Tool, letting you sculpt geometry faster than ever. On the data side, we’re guaranteeing compliance, introducing proactive IDS Validation right in the Command Center.

Watch here our Monthly Release video:

Modelling

Modelling in Qonic becomes more intuitive than ever.

  • Extrude – You can now extrude directly on faces and boundaries, with translation snapping for precise alignment.

  • Chalk tool – The new Chalk tool lets you sketch freely in 3D to guide shapes, cuts or materials.

  • Boundary selection in Deep Mode – Selecting complex surfaces and edges is now easier and more accurate.

  • Boundary Push/Pull – A new selection workflow makes push–pull editing faster and more predictable.

  • 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator support – Qonic Desktop now supports SpaceNavigator devices for smooth, tactile navigation.

  • Improved Model Detail Handling – The level-of-detail (LOD) engine has been optimized, providing smoother streaming and better visualization when viewing small or detailed elements.

Accurate Quantities

  • Improved quantity handling – Fixes and refinements ensure consistent units and data reliability across reports and exports.

Data Management

  • Multi-Model connect layers – Seamlessly connect and align layers across multiple models within a project.

  • Saved Views Panel – Save and recall visual setups instantly, including camera angles, visibility, and Section Planes.

  • Support for Views – Views are now supported in Qonic. When importing a model, views are automatically created, simplifying the setup process.

  • Library enhancements – Parent nodes now appear in the browse panel for clearer data hierarchy.

Cloud-Based Collaboration

  • Issue grouping improvements – Smarter grouping and navigation of issues improves coordination across teams.

  • Navigator Update – The Navigator now includes visualisation settings and saved views, keeping everyone aligned.

Platform & User Interface

  • Transparent Overlay Screen – The loading screen now fades seamlessly once the model is ready.

  • Lower Near Clip Plane – Enhanced visual clarity when working close to geometry.

  • Improved Grids – Better visualization of radial grids and improved handling of grid imports. More accurate grid display and control in 3D space.

  • Improved Browse Panel – Multi-selection filters and performance optimisations.

Interoperability

  • IDS validation in Command Center – A new IDS procedure helps validate data compliance directly in Command Center.

  • Improved import & export stability – Enhanced handling of breps, curves, and reference geometry for Rhino, Revit, and IFC workflows.

  • Revit import fixes – Improved property import and geometry handling for smoother Revit interoperability.

API

  • Public API enhancements – New endpoints for quantities , multiple code updates, and improved token management.

  • Personal user & bot tokens – Secure token access enables more flexible integrations.

Dashboard

  • Improved upload experience – The model upload flow has been visually redesigned for clarity and stability.

  • Starter Project for neworganisations – New users now begin with a preloaded starter project for a faster onboarding experience.

Bug Fixes

This release also includes dozens of fixes across the platform, improving stability and performance:

  • More accurate unit handling and CSV exports in reports.

  • Fixed scrolling behaviour in sidebars and menus.

  • Conflict Solving Panel – Restored missing icons for clearer visual feedback when resolving conflicts.

  • Codification Fix – Correctly handles empty arrays of measurement codes for more reliable property data.

  • Improved search accuracy for descriptions in browse and inspect.

  • Improved import stability when subtracting empty features.

  • Interface responsiveness improvements for both desktop and mobile.

  • Enhanced reliability for issue positions, model move handling, and codification updates.

  • Fixed property editing behaviour when clearing or changing types.

  • Improved single-item selection to avoid unwanted box selection.

  • Resolved deletion issue in location libraries.

  • Fixed delete command triggering after invalid preselection.

  • Improved scope handling for procedures — scope now resets only when necessary.

  • Fixed stretch tool behaviour using a new selection logic.

  • Prevented assigning existing parent locations as new entries.

This release is about less wasted time and more trust in your model. With these high-impact features now delivered, we are focused on amplifying our core strength, cloud speed, to deliver superior object management and further integrate our new modeling capabilities.
