We are pleased to announce the June release of Qonic, packed with new features, enhancements, and fixes designed to streamline your workflow and improve your user experience. Here’s a detailed look at what’s new and improved in this release.

Modelling

New Features

  • Box Creation Tool: Easily create box shapes within your models.
  • Editing Assembly Structure: Manage the assembly structure of your nested model objects, including creating, dissolving, adding to, and removing from assemblies.
  • Conflict Handling Mode: Visually resolve conflicts when merging changes from multiple users.
  • Object Alignment: Align objects to other geometry.
  • Automatic Wall Connections: Automatically connect walls in large selection sets.
    Improvements
  • Model Origin: Automatically bring distant models closer and allow users to fix the model origin.
  • Unit Preferences: Support for both imperial and metric units.
  • Window Dimensions: Shows dimensions when moving and copying windows.
  • Snapping Enhancements:
    • Optimized snapping for improved precision.
    • 3D move with snapping.
    • Manipulator repositioning with snapping.
  • Measure tool: Added a count calculator

Fixes

  • Measure Code Inheritance: Fixed inheritance of measure codes when a child classification has no measure code.
  • Manipulator Field: Fixed issue where typing 0 in the manipulator field jumps to 1e-06.
  • Units Scaling: Corrected units scaling in dimensions and manipulator.
  • Aggregated Windows: Fixed issues with moving aggregated windows.

Interoperability

New Features

  • IFC Update: Upload revisions of IFC models and seamlessly merge changes with previous versions of the models.

Fixes

  • Rhino Import: Fixed issues with importing degenerated curves and block definitions.
  • IFC Import: Corrected import issues related to units and missing geometry.

User Interface and Dashboard

  • Browse Panel: Query, group, and filter your model objects using the new configurable browse panel.
  • Custom Materials and Classifications: Create custom materials and classifications libraries from scratch.
  • Estimated Project Size: Added estimated project size input during project creation.
  • Project Mobile Dashboard: Expanded mobile dashboard to include project details.

Improvements

  • List View Model Status: Model statuses are now visible on the dashboard list view.
  • Property Name Sorting: Added sorting for property names in the dashboard.
  • Multi-Model Enhancements: Improved handling and display of multiple models.
  • Property Library Editing: Enhanced editing capabilities for property libraries.
  • Drag and Drop: Improved drag and drop functionality for model files.
  • Dialog Transitions: Added transitions in the dashboard for a general improvement in look and feel.

Fixes

  • Bulk Delete: Bulk delete now works correctly for more than six models.
  • Schedule CSV Export: Correct units are now shown in the schedule CSV export.
  • Revert Dialog: Fixed issue where the revert dialog would not open.
  • Redirect Links: Fixed redirect to correct app download link.
