Hi Qonic Team !
I`m currently testing the Qonic trial version and I have some questions about its functionality. I would appreciate your help in clarifying the following points:
- What is the maximum file size (in weight) that the trial version allows to open?
- How can the autosave option be configured in the program?
- Why is it currently not possible to open files in SKP format?
- Regarding the user invitation process: when the OWNER sends an invitation to another user, the user receives a link, but the process does not seem to be completed within the program. What should be the correct flow after accepting the invitation?
- Is it possible to select the import units before uploading a file, and can they be changed afterwards?
- How can the UCS be configured in order to draw a new element aligned with the previously inserted model, using an existing reference such as a wall or any furniture?
- Is it possible to change the visual style of the model (e.g. wired, hidden, shaded, realistic)? In some cases it is difficult to clearly identify which element is being edited.
Thanks for taking your time to answer me !
Regards
Natalia
Hi Natalia! Thanks for trying out Qonic. Please find an answer to your questions below:
-
What is the maximum file size (in weight) that the trial version allows to open?
For IFC, Rhino and SketchUp files the size limit is 2GB per file. For Revit files uploaded directly to the dashboard, the limit is 256MB, but you can circumvent that limit by using the Qonic plugin for Revit.

How can the autosave option be configured in the program?
There is no configuration necessary; the changes are automatically saved to the cloud so you never lose work. Note that you still need to publish your changes if you wish to share them with the other project members.

Why is it currently not possible to open files in SKP format?
That was a bug on our end and should be resolved by now! Let us know if something still does not work as expected.
-
Regarding the user invitation process: when the OWNER sends an invitation to another user, the user receives a link, but the process does not seem to be completed within the program. What should be the correct flow after accepting the invitation?
I am not entirely sure if I interpreted your question correctly here, but I do want to note that there are two different types of invitations: on organization level and on project level. You can add colleagues to your organization, but that will not automatically mean they have access to all the projects in your organization – they need to be explicitly granted access to the relevant projects.

Is it possible to select the import units before uploading a file, and can they be changed afterwards?
At this time, there is no way to set units; the units of the original file will be retained. This is something we are aware of though, and we are actively investigating a solution.

How can the UCS be configured in order to draw a new element aligned with the previously inserted model, using an existing reference such as a wall or any furniture?
There is currently no concept of an explicitly defined UCS in Qonic. By default, the global X- and Y-directions of the model are used, but there are some built-in mechanisms to make it possible to align with existing elements when creating new objects, for example by hovering the manipulator close to an edge you want to align with.

Is it possible to change the visual style of the model (e.g. wired, hidden, shaded, realistic)? In some cases it is difficult to clearly identify which element is being edited.
Currently that is not yet supported, but if this is a common request we can definitely implement this. Feel free to write this down in our feature requests forum!
