Qonic core modelling workflow

Our team is developing a modeling toolset that will enable you to model BIM with real-life building systems, such as wall assemblies, manufacturable products, finish layers, and connections like details, sills, insulation stones, and roof caps.

One of the key features of our toolset is the ability to have real 3D geometry for wall/slab layers, instead of 2D layer compositions. This feature allows for better modeling control, more accurate quantities without approximations, and easier modeling of more complex wall layer connections. To make this possible, we have developed several tools that will help you streamline your workflow.

One of these tools is the ability to split generic building elements into material layer parts. This allows you to classify, filter, and manipulate the parts individually, giving you more control over accurate model quantities.

Another tool we’ve developed is the ability to add material layer parts to existing building elements. With this tool, you can quickly add missing or incomplete finish layers on top of the core building elements, using an input building element, material definition, and thickness. This workflow mimics how complex assemblies are built in real-life.

There are many advantages to using our core modeling workflow, including a big decrease in needed layer compositions, much easier and better connections, simpler geometry, and avoiding tedious layer manipulations.

So, if you’re looking for a solid modeling toolbox that can help you fully model designs with the highest level of detail, be sure to check out our core modeling workflow.
