Qonic August Release Notes 2026

Qonic August Release Notes 2026

Ever since Push/Pull launched, we’ve been working toward something bigger. The goal was always to let you build a complete model from scratch, inside Qonic.

This month, we’re turning this goal into reality. With the launch of Components, allowing you to enrich your designs with fully functional interior and technical elements. We’ve also added real-world site context, completely rebuilt our measurement tools, and made issue tracking much easier to manage.

New Capabilities

1. Components

Qonic was already equipped for modeling structural elements like walls and slabs from scratch, but components officially completes the picture by bringing doors, windows, furniture, and MEP terminals into the platform.

You can now model an entire building end-to-rend in Qonic without relying on external libraries.

Watch the Components deep dive video and read the full breakdown in our dedicated post on Components.

2. World Context

By streaming 3D Tiles directly inside Qonic, you can now see your project in its real-world context.

Your model is accurately positioned at its exact geographic location, so you can view it alongside the actual terrain, neighboring buildings, and surrounding infrastructure.

This makes coordination simple whenever you need to check sightlines, plan access routes, or see how your design fits into its environment.

3. Unified Measurement Tools

Measuring now runs through a single, unified measure tool instead of switching between separate ones. With the new measure-along tool, you can trace any path to get precise XYZ coordinates, signed XYZ values, and separate running totals for each axis.

Point-to-point measurement also gains angle measurement, so you can check angles between two points without a separate step. Useful for quick dimensional checks and for verifying geometry during coordination.

4. Inspect Panel

We’ve enhanced the Inspect tool to provide more insights into the geometry of your selection. You can now group identical products, making it easier to inspect and adjust the properties of similar objects.

5. Split & Slice to Assembly

You can now convert split and sliced geometry directly into an assembly to preserve the relationship between the resulting products and keep your model organized

6. Improved Copy & Paste

Copy and paste products directly from the right-click menu, making it faster to duplicate and reposition products.

Feature Additions

Project-wide Issues View

Issues now have a project-wide view with improved filtering, including the ability to see issues that are not related to the model you currently have open. Rather than only reviewing issues tied to an open model, you get a full picture of everything raised across the project.

Useful for issue triage and for anyone managing coordination across multiple models.

4D Planning

  • Show/hide unassigned products: A toggle lets you show or hide products that are not yet assigned to a task.
  • Edit planning delay: Planning delay can now be edited directly from the task detail.
  • Sorting and grouping: Planning tasks can now be sorted and grouped.
  • Styling updates: Task detail, edit, and create views all get updated styling.

Selection

  • Select-same on active selection: Apply select-same directly on your current active selection.

Interoperability

  • Export of phasing parameter: The phasing parameter now exports as a string parameter, opening the door to pushing edits of that parameter back into Revit.

Core stability

A focused round of fixes across modelling, planning, and the platform core.

Import & Export

  • Materials are now preserved across a Revit re-export and update.

Modelling & Transform

  • Improved subtractor creation from projection.
  • Fixed clash calculations for aggregate walls in product snapping.
  • Improved highlight anti-aliasing.
  • Fixed flip-layers hover and static hover selection.
  • Depth bias is no longer applied to transparent scope.

Publishing & Collaboration

  • The default language is now applied when inviting a project member who has no language set.

Stability & Workflow

  • Editing a newly created task with no products no longer throws an error.
  • Synthetic groups can no longer be edited.
  • The planning background stripes now stretch to the bottom of the panel.
  • Fixed a conflicting background in the planning panel.
  • On Enter, non-procedure tools are also considered when reactivating the last tool used.
  • Fixed uploading BCF files.
  • Dynamic tolerance is now used for unit comparison during import.
  • Procedure failure toasts now show the real reason for the failure.

We’ve always believed BIM shouldn’t depend on desktop software. Every release has moved us closer to that goal, and this month marks one of the biggest steps yet.

We’re excited to see what you’ll build with it. Try the new release in a real project and tell us what works, what surprises you, and what you’d like to see next. app.qonic.com

Great to see not only new big features, but also a lot of smaller improvements!

Not to mention that quite a few of the latter are based on user feedback (mine included) Keep up the good work!
