Qonic February Release Notes

February marks a major milestone for Qonic with the launch of Qonic Mobile! Now you can access your projects anytime, anywhere—whether on-site, in a meeting, or on the go.
Beyond mobile, this release also introduces major enhancements, including a redesigned Command Center, improved modeling tools, expanded API capabilities, and essential performance optimizations. Read on to explore all the details!

Qonic Mobile Version

We’re thrilled to launch Qonic Mobile, bringing seamless access to your projects wherever you are. Whether you’re on-site, in a meeting, or traveling, you can now view models and access essential project data with an optimized mobile experience. Available on iOS and Android, Qonic Mobile is read-only for now, keeping you connected anytime, anywhere.

Platform & Performance

  • Redesigned Command Center: The Command Center has been completely reimagined for a smoother, more intuitive workflow. Every tool has been refined to fully leverage the new multi-line command system, making navigation and execution more efficient than ever.
  • Report Panel: All calculations in the Report Panel now run in the background, boosting responsiveness and enabling you to continue working without interruption. You can also visualize failed quantity calculations, enhancing transparency and improving communication.
  • Dashboard overview page: See all projects within an organization in a single view.
  • Search bar for user lists: Easily find project members and other users.
  • Help Center Improvements: We’ve migrated the Help Center to a new platform, making articles easier to find and navigation between topics more seamless.

Modeling

  • Snapping to 45 degrees for rotation: Added snapping functionality for 45-degree increments during rotation for more controlled transformations.
  • Discrete values for creation tools and manipulator: Now supports predefined discrete values for more accurate modeling adjustments.
  • Selecting snap target face: Users can now select a specific face as a snap target, improving precision in model adjustments.
  • Push-Pull on multiple faces and preselection: You can now use the push-pull tool on multiple faces at once, with the ability to preselect them for a more efficient workflow.
  • Snapping to cylinder axis ends: Snapping functionality has been improved to include cylinder axis ends, ensuring precise alignments.

Public API

  • Renamed (ID to GUID) and added new functions: The API now uses GUID instead of ID for better consistency.
  • New delete functionality: Added the ability to delete specific materials and libraries via the API.
  • Get specific library on material: Users can now retrieve specific material libraries directly through the API, improving integration possibilities.

Interoperability

  • Corrected part translation for Revit: Fixed issues related to incorrect part translations when importing Revit models.
  • Support for Copying Dimensions in Openings: When duplicating openings, associated dimensions are now correctly copied.
  • Improved IFC update handling: Resolved an issue where materials were missing during IFC updates.

Bug Fixes

  • Slice Tool fixes: Addressed multiple issues related to the Slice tool to enhance reliability.
  • Property and Material management fixes: Fixed several problems when changing or removing properties and materials.
  • Scaling fix for Retina screens: UI elements were too small on Retina displays; this has been corrected for better usability.
  • Fractional feet-inch unit display fix: Resolved issues where dimension fields were not displaying correctly when using fractional feet-inch units.
  • Materials/Types panel menu items in read-only mode: Now displays menu items correctly even when in read-only mode.
  • Procedure applicability on active selection sets: Fixed cases where procedure applicability was not always checked when working with selection sets.
  • Snapping and highlighting improvements: Various fixes and enhancements for snapping behavior and object highlighting.
  • More robust gross area and volume calculations: Improvements to ensure accurate calculations of gross area and volume.

Dashboard Fixes

  • List filters don’t reset when navigating.
  • Search on location libraries did not work correctly.
  • Model upload state stuck on “revision upload” now fixed.
  • Fixed issue with users being unable to open model on conflict.
  • Fixed an issue where a list of users from the wrong organization was used in the “add members” dialog.
  • Fixed subscription display issues: Some cases where the wrong subscription plan was shown are now resolved.
  • Unable to remove project invite is now fixed.
