Qonic March Release Notes

March brings another wave of powerful updates to Qonic, including the introduction of the new Deep Inspect Panel, enhanced measurement tools, a redesigned Help Centre, and improvements across the platform. Modelling

  • Edge Intersection Snapping: Enhanced snapping functionality now supports intersections of edges.
  • Push-Pull Tool Fixes: Several reliability and performance improvements for the push-pull modelling tool.
  • Improved Manipulator Positioning: The manipulator now automatically aligns along edges and orients itself towards the camera for more intuitive handling.

Data & Reporting

  • The Measure Tool: Now supports custom area, volume, and surface measurements for more precise calculations.
  • Quantity Speed-up: Improved performance in quantity calculations for faster processing.
  • Deep Inspect: The Inspect Panel now allows inspection of geometric properties of edges, faces, and bodies.
  • Report Panel - Itemised Rows: A new feature allowing for detailed breakdowns in report calculations.
  • Browse Panel - Exclusion Filters: Users can now apply “NOT” filters in the Browse Panel to exclude specific results from their searches.
  • Surface Area Calculator Upgrades: Further refinements to ensure more accurate surface area calculations.

User Experience & Help Centre

  • Help Centre UI Redesign: A refreshed interface for the Help Centre, offering easier navigation for articles, issue reporting, and direct access to support through the new widget in the bottom left corner.
  • Refined Selection & Filtering: Multiple fixes to the Browse and Inspect Panels, improving selection accuracy and usability.
  • Colour Override Enhancements: Users can now cancel colour override smoothly without disruptions.

Dashboard

  • Element Quantities in Reports: Users can now include precise element quantities for more detailed analysis.
  • Sample Project Placeholder: Introduced a unique placeholder for the sample project to improve clarity.

Public API Enhancements

  • Expanded API with Extra Type Functionality: Additional type management capabilities, improving integration flexibility.
  • Property Modifications: Updates to property modifications now allow deletions, requiring adjustments for existing integrations.
  • Version Descriptions for API Changes: Personal changes made via the Public API now include descriptions for better tracking and auditing.

Browse & Inspect Panel Fixes

  • Parent Type Filtering: Fixed a bug where parent type filters showed no results even with children; refactored for better performance.
  • Missing Filters: Added missing filter types in the Browse and Report Panels.
  • Range Filter Issue: Resolved a problem with range filters in the Browse Panel.
  • Reset Filter Button: Fixed the issue with the “Reset Filter” button being disabled in the Inspect Panel.
  • Material Filter on Edit: Corrected material filter issues during edits in the Inspect Panel.
  • Skip Acting as Save: Fixed “Skip” button behaviour in the Inspect Panel.
  • Multiple Filters: Fixed the inability to add multiple filters at once in the Browse Panel.
  • Products Without Geometry: Resolved issues with products lacking geometry, ensuring they now appear in Browse, Inspect, and Search.

Dashboard Fixes

  • Resolved login issues on mobile, ensuring seamless access across all devices.
  • Fixed broken library selection after drag-and-drop, restoring smooth organisation.
  • Resolved and enhanced overlapping states in models.
  • Corrected access rights issues where some users could still open the access dialogue.
  • Smoothed out the initial login process and resolved early errors for a better user experience.
  • Fixed inconsistencies with import states, improving workflow efficiency.
  • Addressed issues where URL parameters were lost when opening the client, preserving session continuity.

Bug Fixes & Performance Optimisations

  • Selection & Snapping Fixes: Addressed issues with selection flickering, snapping offsets, and wrong selection bounds after searches.
  • Mobile & Tablet UI Enhancements: Improved mobile usability by increasing the clickable area for checkboxes and adjusting tablet scaling to ensure proper UI display on both devices.
  • Access Rights & User Management Fixes: Resolved issues related to removing users from organisations and adjusting procedure access rights.
  • Classification Library Enhancements: Improved auto-prefill when creating a new classification code.
  • Procedures Without Modifications in Undo: Fixed an issue where procedures without modifications were incorrectly appearing in the Undo history.
  • General Stability & UI Fixes: Enhancements to filtering, shadows, crash prevention, and better handling of large selection sets.
