QTO sets -> proposals

During an internal training I gave yesterday, I got some comments from first-time users about the adding of “Quantity” properties to a selection of elements:

  1. The first part, I am not certain about and didn’t test. But could it be that upon import of IFC or RVT files into Qonic, information about quantities is discarded? So I mean the classic “Dimensions” property set from Revit, … I can’t seem to remember having seen them in any of the projects I work in. Maybe because I didn’t look for them, that is certainly a possibility :slight_smile:
  2. When adding the “QTO_…” sets, that is only possible when all selected elements belong to the same ifcClass. It makes sense for sure, because it shouldn’t be possible to add slab quantities to a wall.
    But it would be nice if it were possible to add the corresponding QTO set to each of the selected elements. Qonic should be smart enough for this :wink:
  3. An additional step on the above point would be the possibility to add the QTO sets on all objects upon importing the model in Qonic in the first place. That would reduce a couple of steps. And honestly, I don’t see a real disadvantage in this. Even if there are too many quantities that are never used, as long as they are calculated correctly, in my opinion this is not a problem.
  4. When looking at the quantities in the inspect panel, we only see a list of values. This is rather useless in many cases, so would rather want to see the summation of these quantities (I believe it is the same in Reports when adding this qto property to a column => I think I have inquired about this before, though maybe not in this community.
